We will be celebrating our 50 year High School reunion August 21st, 22nd, 2026 and your attendance is requested!
Wasn't it just yesterday that we dreamed about the path of our lives? Remember those courageous first steps into this great adventure of life?
Let's celebrate the things we've seen, the people we've met, the lessons we've learned and the things that have shaped us. Welcome home Griffins: graduating class of 1976!
WELCOME BACK TO CLASS FELLOW GRIFFINS
In the latter part of the 1970s, life felt like a slow-burn transition, a time caught between the free-spirited chaos of the '60s and the glossy consumerism of the '80s. The airwaves were a mix of disco's infectious beat, the raw energy of punk rock, and the smooth harmonies of soft rock, all vying for space on a car radio with a dial you actually had to tune. Gas lines were a frustrating reality, a stark reminder of economic instability that colored daily routines, while concerns over the Cold War and the Iran hostage crisis loomed in the background. Yet, amidst it all, there was a sense of earnest simplicity: neighborhood kids played outside until the streetlights came on, families gathered around a single television set for shows like Happy Days and Mork & Mindy, and the most cutting-edge technology most people owned was a VCR. It was a time of bell-bottoms, wood-paneled station wagons, and a growing cultural shift, all wrapped in a warm, often fuzzy, nostalgia that, from today's perspective, feels both quaint and profoundly authentic. The Los Alamitos High School Class of '76 Charity Walk is an annual event that raises money for local charities and organizations. Participants can choose to walk or run a 5K or 10K route, and can fundraise individually or as part of a team. The event also includes live music, food, and other activities.
